Turf Talk:
- Rail is in the True position, as it was at the most recent meeting at the end of November (Jericho Cup Day).
- Rail True on a firm deck at Warrnambool generally equals an advantage inside/on speed.
- The one caveat is that at least it’s the second meeting in a row in True.
Race 4
This looks a terrific race for His Lady Bay. Always shown a degree of talent and now gets gate one, blinkers and Dean Yendall in the saddle – a winning recipe. She was good first up here at Warrnambool over 1200m before being restrained from a wide draw at Geelong last time out and simply spotting them too big a start. She was good late. From the pole draw she should be handy to what looks a genuine tempo and with even luck off the inside will be in the finish.
Prince Magnetite looks the danger. He is still searching for a run at Geelong last time out! Had absolutely no luck. He’s at peak fitness now and also maps for a good run.
Suggested bet: Backing His Lady Bay – think the $4 is a great price.
Race 6
Like Street Conqueror here. Struck a soft track and was back on a day you wanted to be on speed at return run to Victoria at Geelong. Given a couple of jump-outs between runs, he bounced back with a very good win at Werribee last time out. Rating there measures up to this race and there’s already been winning form out of the race. Maps for a lovely run just behind the speed – think he’s a terrific each-way bet.
Suggested bet: Backing Street Conqueror E/W at $6.
