Instead of your traditional market movers, PonyBet’s boss Jason Scott reckons the best way to help punters is to copy the experts.
“You will definitely find your customers more winners if we look at what the big players are doing, where the smart money is.”
Can’t argue with that logic. Every Friday, Scott will take Betsy through where the smart money is going ahead of the weekend, anywhere in Australia.
RANDWICK
Autumn Glow/Apocalyptic $2.48
‘’We have a large amount of multis, lots of multis taking Autumn Glow into Apocalyptic. We’ve had multis at $4,000, one $6,000, another at $8,000 and $2,000 and probably a whole lot of smaller ones I haven’t seen yet.’’
Race 4 Number 2 Savvy Hallie $3.70
Scott said some of the bigger action isn’t on the hot $1.55 favourite Apocalyptic, but rather the second favourite Savvy Hallie.
‘’Probably the best one of the best backed with us, which does surprise me somewhat, is Savvy Hallie,’’ Scott said.
‘’They took $4.20 and again, it was the syndicates and the right guys who are betting. So we might see Apocalyptic get out a little bit, I suspect.’’
Scott said punters will likely get a better price closer to the jump.
‘’I think it might get out to $1.75, perhaps even $1.80″
‘’I suspect there’ll be money for it to come back in eventually too. I think it’ll get out and then I think that’ll turn around and come back, my guess it probably jumps at $1.65, that’s my prediction’’.
Race 8 Number 8 Stefi Magnetica $10
In a race full of stars including Autumn Glow at $1.60, not to mention Antino, Ceolwulf and Aeliana, Scott said there has been some big bets on Bjorn Baker’s Stefi Magnetica.
”Stefi Magnetic has bet well at $14, now she’s down to $9.50, which is interesting when you look at the Waller horses with good first-up records,” Scott said.
FLEMINGTON
Race 7 Number 6 Matcha Latte $4
”We did see money yesterday for Matcha Latte. We saw a little bit from the general public and one of the syndicates also joined in.”
ORANGE
Race 6 Number 2 Brummagen $3
‘’The best from the bush is in Orange, of all places. They took $3.80 and then someone else came again at $3.40, had a big go, so we’re into $3 now.’’
