James McDonald (Fangirl): “She was outstanding. She always runs her heart out but, today, under trying circumstances she was superb. It thought it was one of the better runs of her career. She doesn’t really handle it but she had the audacity to fight on.”

Brad Rawiller (Rothfire): “I didn’t have the best of runs on him today but he wasn’t the same horse from the 600. He wasn’t bringing me into the race like we needed to be.”

Nash Rawiller (Private Eye): “He travelled great. He really helped himself through those conditions early. I felt, though, that at the 300, he wasn’t quite as in love with the surface. Still very game.”

Ryan Maloney (Another Wil): “He sat on good speed but at about the 600 it was apparent to me that he wasn’t handling that track. He’s won at the 1400 before but I think against lesser competition. From the 600 it felt like his wheels were spinning.”

Luke Nolen (Desert Lightning): “From a wide draw we ended up with a sound run but failed to let go on the ground.”

Tim Clark (Sepals): “He was amazing. He took a little bit of time but he found a good spot. He kept coming and kept chasing all the way to the line.”

Adam Hyeronimus (Headley Grange): “Everything went perfect for us. Just probably wasn’t 100% at his best today.”

Tommy Berry (Transatlantic): “Sort of got taken off wide on the corner but once he got past that part of the track, he just lost his concentration a little bit.”

Jason Collett (Yellow Brick): “We had to take or medicine early from the gate. His wheels spun on that ground. He didn’t got that hard early, too.

Tom Sherry (King Of Roseau): “He’s done a really good job. But I thought he was tough and honest late.”

Chad Schofield (Estadio Mestalla): “We found a beautiful position in the race but he just couldn’t travel in rhythm with that tempo. They went just too quick for him.”

Declan Bates (Warnie): “He’s run a good, honest race. I didn’t feel like he relished the conditions but nonetheless he’s run well.”

Harry Coffey (Von Hauke): “Terrific effort. I was pretty much last on the bend so for him to reel those sectionals off late, it was a tremendous effort. He did a good job. He beat some handy horses and did it fair and square.”

Craig Williams (Splash Back): “She felt the pressure from the start and knuckled. I thought she travelled well after that. When she came under pressure in the straight, we were going well enough to come out a little but so we held our margin towards the inside. She stayed on and wasn’t beaten far but no real change-up speed when we got a bit right handed. It’ll be interesting to see how she comes through the run.”

Tyler Schiller (Abounding): “Travelled terrific but the track is just deteriorating a bit too much for her. When I asked her to go faster, she just couldn’t. Fingers crossed for the Tiara. A but firmer and we’ll see a better horse.”

Ben Thompson (Tuned): “Very honest. His toughest assignment but he acquit himself well. It was obviously a typical Stradbroke. High pressure and the pressure was on early. When I straighted up and at the 300, I thought I was going to keep picking off runners but 50 to 100 out, he’d had enough.”

Luke Cartwright (Regal Award): “I thought he was honest. It worked out good for us. We were able to get cover on him. He kicked good and I was waiting for his turn-of-foot at the 150-metre mark but he might have just come to the end of the prep with a long prep and that heavy ground.”
