Magic Time will fly the flag for Inglis and Yulong in this year’s $20 million Everest, the dual Group 1 star locking in her place for the world’s richest turf race.

Bred by John and Trish Muir’s Milburn Creek, Magic Time was acquired by Yulong in late 2024 after winning at the elite level for her breeder.

Inglis Bloodstock chief executive Sebastian Hutch said the decision followed the late withdrawal of Skybird.

“Mr Zhang and Yulong are incredible supporters not just of Inglis, but of Australian racing and breeding, so when the opportunity came up to partner with them for The Everest, it was something we were very enthusiastic about,” Hutch said.

“It is disappointing to not have Skybird to represent us, but Magic Time more than deserves her place.”

Yulong general manager Jun Zhang said the mare’s record made her a strong contender.

“Magic Time more than deserves a spot in The Everest,” Zhang said. “She’s the ultimate model of consistency, running into the top three on 14 occasions, including winning twice at the highest level.”
