TAB is set to scrap its commission on Exacta bets for punters on the Saturday Group 1 races during the remainder of the Spring Carnival.
Under the new One Pool Xtra promotion announced on Friday, punters who correctly select the first two finishers in order will receive a payout without TAB’s usual takeout with the bookmaker saying that approximately 20 per cent more of the betting pool will be returned to winning punters.
The offer will cover major races including Saturday’s Cox Plate, The Golden Eagle and the TAB Champions Sprint, Mile and Stakes.
“The Exacta is one of the most popular exotic bets with TAB customers, especially in races with short favourites,” Tabcorp general manager of trading David Beirne said.
“We’ve been working hard to create more value for punters who bet on the Tote and this is another step in that direction.
“We’re proud to give racegoers a larger slice of the pool, more value for money and further showcase what One Pool can do for the industry.”
The offer runs until November 7
