Inglis Digital will sell significant shares in Melbourne Cup-bound stayers Vauban and Wine Dark Sea this week.
In a trend that is becoming common ahead of major races, the shares will give buyers a chance to own a share in a Melbourne Cup runner within days of purchase.
A one per cent share of Ninja was sold for $55,000 before The Everest.
The exact amount of shares available in the pair of stayers is yet to be confirmed, as are the proportions to be offered.
“We’ve seen fantastic demand for shares on Inglis Digital, most recently with G1 Everest runner Ninja, Fireball Miss and Decorum,” Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth said.
“The platform also has a great record for selling shares in horses that have gone on to win at G1 level, such as Charm Stone, Baraqiel, Light Infantry Man and Benedetta.
“Vauban is an established performer at the highest level, while Wine Dark Sea is an exciting stayer with the profile to make a big impression in Australia.
“Both offer buyers the opportunity to become immediately involved in the spring racing action.”
Both Vauban, a Group 1 placegetter in the Tancred Stakes and Doomben Cup, and Geoffrey Freer Stakes winner Wine Dark Sea sit comfortably in the Melbourne Cup field.
