It went out as the red-hot favourite in the $10 million Golden Eagle.
But it was nothing short of a horror show for Peter Moody and his star mare Sheza Alibi.
The mare never got clear for a run.
In a post to social media on Saturday night, Moody was circumspect after what was a disappointing day at the races.
Sheza Alibi eventually finished 11th to eventual winner Skyhook.
‘’Home safe and sound, Sheza Alibi. Tough day at the office,’’ Moody said.
‘’What do you do? What do you say? Just no luck. Does happen in racing.’’
Moody said Sheza Alibi will now head home to Melbourne.
‘’So got one slight little nick on a white sock on her off hind. But we live to fight another day,’’ Moody said.
‘’She’ll travel home tomorrow, and she’ll be in the paddock eating green grass by Monday morning.
‘’One Group 1, a couple of Group 1 placings, and one unlucky run. Look forward to the autumn.’’
