Race Horse Summary
R2 (1) Frosty Girl Sharp trials, looks black-type class. Draws well to land handy and kick off in style.
R6 (8) Lyles Smart trials, looks well placed over 1000m fresh
R6 (12) Crepe Myrtle Exciting return for Joe Pride; strong trials and class above if forward enough.

Turf Talk:

  • Rail True Entire – very hot day expected so the yard will be key. Track should play evenly with tempo dictating results.

Stats that matter:

  • Adam Hyeronimus striking at 36.1% over past 90 days with a positive POT of +106.5%.
  • Bjorn Baker stable striking at 26.6% (past 90 days, up to $10 SP) with a POT of +25.4%; particularly effective first-to-third up.

Race by race overview

Race 1

Impressive maiden to kick off proceedings here. Miss Lola savaged the line first up behind the progressive Surf’s Up, that filly has since gone down to Melbourne and ran a bold second behind Point Barrow. Miss Lola strips fitter and should find the 1-1 from the draw. The big watch is on Big Tiger – smart fitness-building trials but will need luck from the draw. 1300m on debut is a positive. The favourite Onmalone has race fitness and should land on speed.

Selections:
(13) Miss Lola
(3) Big Tiger
(6) Onmalone

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 2

Keen to side with the Chris Waller-trained Frosty Girl first up. She looks a black-type mare in the making, two sharp trials and draws to land nice and close in the small field. Alabama Fox was sound first up over 1250m; the rise to 1400m is a key positive second up. Pictor has race fitness and should roll forward but needs to improve again.

Selections:
(1) Frosty Girl
(3) Alabama Fox
(6) Pictor

Suggested Bet: Win (1) Frosty Girl

Race 3

With Mamushka coming out, this race has changed significantly. Bartolf goes firmly on top now. I loved his last 100m at Rosehill and now looks ready for 1300m. Believe In Angels found sharp form last start when rising to this trip, and a return to the home deck only helps. Climb The Ladder comes right into the mix also, peak fitness and darws ot get the perfect run up on speed.

Selections:
(1) Bartolf
(6) Believe In Angels
(4) Climb The Ladder

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 4

Massive field here. The map looks kinder second-up for Hurstville Zagreb, who had no luck fresh but stuck on well late. Respecting early market support for Bestower, who was good first up and owns a 2 from 4 second-up record. Full Hao is the improver – solid fresh, and has been back to the trials, now straight to 1600m is a big tick second up. Heed The Omens is next best

Selections:
(5) Hurstville Zagreb
(8) Bestower
(14) Full Hao
(10) Heed The Omens

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 5

The 2000m+ profile suits Captain Maverick, who has had two solid fitness building runs and now peaks third-up. From the draw, expect Nash to bowl along on speed. Wounder brings back-to-back solid figures and just needs to prove himself at 2000m+. Sting In The Tail will need a good ride from the draw but continues to race well without winning. Hammett rounds out the numbers.

Selections:
(1) Captain Maverick
(6) Wounder
(7) Sting In The Tail
(3) Hammett

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 6

Race of the day. Excited to see Crepe Myrtle back at the races – 300 days off and now with Joe Pride. Loved both trials, with the only small query being 1000m first up. Lyles has been well supported early and looks well placed dropping back to 1000m. Extravagent Lad gets in light with the 3kg claim and is a pure 1000m horse. Mailata and Detendu round out the numbers.

Selections:
(12) Crepe Myrtle
(8) Lyles
(3) Extravagent Lad
(6) Mailata

Suggested Bet: (8) Lyles WIN, (12) Crepe Myrtle WIN

Race 7

Massive field to close the program. Dance To The Boom did enjoy on-speed favours last start but maps for a cosy run again just off rails and off speed. Money Team brings the best last start figure to this event and the 3kg claim is key. Bojangles peaks third up, sticking to 1400m, and has the turn of foot to suit a hot tempo. Winston Hills is ultra-consistent and comes off a solid win.

Selections:
(8) Dance To The Boom
(1) Money Team
(4) Bojangles
(6) Winston Hills

Suggested Bet: No Bet
