Sheza Alibi looks set for a quiet autumn campaign despite her dominant win in Saturday’s Sandown Guineas.

Co-trainer Peter Moody says the filly will be handled with care through the first half of 2026 after a demanding spring. He also said that the Sandown Guineas winner had done an exceptional job to win Saturday’s Group 2 after a hectic schedule.

“She’s had a long and very rushed prep,” Moody told racing.com.

“She raced through the Queensland winter, had only a short break, then came straight down to Melbourne. She’ll get another small break now, so it won’t be a deep autumn for her.”

The three-year-old has had only three starts since joining the Moody–Coleman team.

“She’s professional, she’s tough, she eats everything, and she’s sound as a bell,” Moody said. “We really don’t know where her ceiling is yet. Keeping her close to home in Melbourne, something like the Australian Guineas looks a realistic option.”

Still, Moody stressed the team must stay grounded despite the Group 2 success.

“She essentially beat BM70 company yesterday, that’s the reality,” he said. “But she’s gone toe-to-toe with Autumn Boy before, and that day she had no favours. She’s definitely improved since.”
