Christmas eve and it has been scorching in Qld.
It would be mission impossible trying to keep the water up on the track on a week like this. For that reason I would think we are looking at quick times and being near the lead should be a help.

Race 1 No.4 Runaround Sue $3
Good speed as you’d expect over 800m. I liked the fact Zechner rode last start and like it even more that he was aggressive. I feel she is best when jammed on speed and tries to hang on. Successful with those tactics last start and back to 800m only suits her better in my opinion. Should look the winner for a long way.
Race 3 No.4 Evelyn May $2.40
She is the best horse in this race and very well placed. Synthetic hoof filler on first time on a firm track and 60kg does level the field up a bit though here. The races she comes out of and run well in are better than these and if she is 100%, she should be beating them.
Race 6 No.2 The Hamo $4
Over a year off and returned a winner over this track/trip. That day he jumped in front, then took the box seat and proved too good. Lots of speed in this race and I can see a very similar set up. Should get all the favours again for the apprentice. Does he improve off the run or is it a case of the 2nd up syndrome off the long break? Market will be a good guide.
