Billy Egan (After Summer): “Very proud of her. She ran as good as she could. To go down by that margin, was very happy with her.”
Tommy Berry (Profoundly): “Very proud of her effort.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Soverato): “A sweet filly. Just found the trip beyond her today but the best is still ahead of her.”
Nash Rawiller (Long Legs): “Possibly see what the vet says. She was beaten sooner than she should have been. Should have taken me right to the furlong.”
Tyler Schiller (Stand My Ground): “I thought she was OK. Probably emptied herself out in the Vinery. Put in a good run today but wasn’t quite up to it at the 2400m.”
Damian Lane (Classic Gem): “Really good run. Bounced back off that unlucky run last week. Ran really creditably today.”
Craig Williams (Queen Of Clubs): “She had a lovely run in the race with the winner outside of her. Not going as well as she needs to be to be fighting out the finish of that race.”
Jason Collett (Satono Invader): “Too keen and didn’t see out the trip.”
Regan Bayliss (La Morra): “She was outclassed in the end.”
Rachel King (Mountain Queen): “Tried really hard. I think the 2400m is a bit of a stretch for her.”
Tom Marquand (Dance With Destiny): “Tacked onto the back of James. Did a good job to run well but probably always up against it.”
And, James McDonald on the winner (Ohope Wins): “They ran it really quickly so it suited her down to the ground. Obviously on paper it didn’t look that way, but I always had a plan to ride her quiet. I was blessed when the pace went on and it never stopped so it was going to be the toughest stayer and that’s exactly what she was.”
