Randwick Guineas winner Sheza Alibi will now likely clash with Australia’s best horse, Autumn Glow, in the Doncaster Handicap.
Sheza Alibi’s trainer Peter Moody announced the news on his Ladbrokes podcast on Wednesday.
”Now, I can tell you this Wednesday evening, the 11th of March, after conversations with the ownership group, Mr Fred Noffke and my team Katherine Coleman and Jeff O’Connor, we’ve basically and it’s not a hundred percent locked in, but we’ve basically made the decision that Sheza Alibi will go to the Doncaster Handicap,” he said.
”And, there is the great possibility that she will take on Australia’s best horse in Autumn Glow in that particular race.”
Sheza Alibi blitzed the field to win the Guineas on Saturday meanwhile Autumn Glow remains undefeated from her ten starts and two Group 1 wins so far.
With Sheza Alibi now a likely starter, it now gives Autumn Glow’s trainer Chris Waller and owner John Messara an interesting decision.
Autumn Glow has been given 56.5kg in the Doncaster Handicap and will have to give Sheza Alibi 7kg, who only carry 49.5kg.
Autumn Glow is $3 with Bet365, and Sheza Alibi is now into $3.50.
