#2 DREFONNA is a daughter of US sire Defrog who has impressed in Cranbourne jump-outs ahead of this debut.
She was given a very quiet time when running midfield on December 8 before being given a more solid hit-out when winning her heat on December 22. Jamie Melham was on board for that recent bit of work and she sticks today – which is a plus. She’s got enough gate speed to put herself in the first few on a track that will no doubt favour on-pacers. This filly looks set for a big debut performance.
#11 THANKS GORGEOUS is the main danger, but she’s had a few chances now and is 1200m back to 1000m deep into a preparation. That said, she comes through a strong form race and can absolutely win, but happy to bet around her at $2.35.
