Race 1 – 1:50PM TAB PLATE (1200 METRES)
Set Weights Maiden for the Fillies and a very good race. Waterhouse and Bott with the two engaged up the top and they look the speed in the race.
RNSW map has LOVE STORY leading the stablemate DOUBLE VISION.
This looks a decent race with some good angles. 4 debutants meet 5 with race experience of which three are first up. All have trialled pleasingly.
We are with #2 LOVE STORY on top and happy to bet. This mare has interestingly had three trials in which all have been good. Her latest might not have been her best heat, doing a bit wrong, but like the fact the stable have taken her away from the home track of Randwick and she will be better for that hit out at Gosford. She is a 4YO Mare making her debut and clearly had a few issues, but tipping this Justify mare has her fair share of ability. Expect her to lead and that looks a big advantage of her main rivals.
#1 DOUBLE VISION will likely settle outside lead and King wouldn’t want to take LOVE STORY on from the same stable. The pair can control the race. This mare has trialled well and is a chance.
#4 CHUCHICHASCHTLI moved well winning her latest trial. She has only had the one trial at 900m prior to this which is the concern. #5 LUX isn’t the worst. Back in both trials and found the line.
We liked the latest trial of #7 MYSTICAL. She is well exposed but two trials this time in and she looks well set up to cart behind the speed. Could be the danger.
#9 SHAHAAMEH too has shown ability. Finished off her heats well. Barrier 8 here and likely map negative.
In summary, there are a few nice horses here. We’re happy to be with the rock hard fit #2 LOVE STORY off three trials while others may not have the tactical speed or positive map.
