Magic Millions Classic favourite Warwoven has drawn ideally for Saturday’s $3 million contest at the Gold Coast and trainer Bjorn Baker sees it as an omen.
The unbeaten colt drew gate six, which becomes five if emergency Iransofar doesn’t gain a start, but will have to contend with second pick in the market Zip Lock in barrier three.
Warwoven tightened from $2.20 to $2.10, while money continued to flow for Zip Lock, which was $8 to $6.50 before the draw.
Rachel King will be able to put Warwoven in the spot she wants from the gate and get the perfect run in transit.
The draw gave Baker the same feeling as last year when O’Ole took out the Classic.
“If you told me I would get six before the draw, I would have paid to have it,” Warwoven’s trainer Bjorn Baker said.
“It’s not often that happens, that you get the barrier you want. It happened with O’Ole last year and she won, so hopefully we get a same result again.”
“He is not going to have to do a lot of work to be in the first six or seven, which is what you want.”
“It’s been a very good morning because his work was excellent on the track and then we got the right gate off it.”
Those in the market, on a whole drew well, Shiki and Itchintogo drawing double-figure gates, and both were slightly out in betting.
