Favourites win plenty of races. But the real thrill, and often the real value, lies in finding the one the market hasn’t fully caught up with.
Betsy’s Bolters, proudly supported by Unibet, is our weekly search for punting gold. We dive deep into the replays, sectionals and market profiles to uncover runners flying under the radar, horses sitting at double-figure odds but with far more upside than their price suggests.
These aren’t wild darts. They’re calculated swings at big prices.

Rosehill – Dean Watling
Race 8 No.3 Vivy Air ($31/$7.50)
Competitive race. This girl is absolutely flying at the trials, the best I’ve seen her. She’ll land off speed in a race that plenty of tempo. She has a turn-of-foot which could prove vital here. Over the odds.
Caulfield – Matt Welsh
Race 6 No 3 Brung King (($13) and No.11 Inherently ($11)
Not a roughie in the true sense once you dutch them up (back them both to win the same amount) but two at double figures that I think should be shorter. Bring King will roll forward and make his own luck on speed while Inherently is ready to peak now third up and like the quick back-up from racing at Warrnambool on Monday.
Race 9 No.14 Star Of Omaha ($31/$7)
I think Salty Pearl is the horse to beat, but this filly has talent. She got a mile back at Flemington first up but rattled to the line. I’ve liked her jump-outs from prior to her debut and despite being from a small stable, think she can measure up to a good level. Something small E/W, also include in quaddie and exotics.
