Summary of Best Bets

Best Bet: Race 6 (2) Queen Amanjena

Next Best: Race 7 (7) Bold Response

Turf Talk

  • Clear conditions are forecast for the meeting, so expect the track to be rated a Good 4.
  • The rail moves out slightly from last week’s position and will be True from the 1600m to the 1000m, and +3m for the remainder.
  • There is usually an advantage to runners who settle in the front half of the field at Cranbourne, and expect that pattern again with on-speed runners favoured.

Stats that matter

  • Julius Sandhu brings three strong chances to this meeting. He has produced 16 winners from his last 100 runners with a POT of +22.8%.
  • Jordan Childs has started to ride into some good form, with 17 winners from his last 100 rides and a POT of +11.1%.

Race by race overview

Race 6

(2) Queen Amanjena ran well when resuming in a stronger race at Caulfield to finish third. She strips fitter second-up here and looks well suited dropping slightly in class. (5) Ichiberu has been consistent in her past three runs and those races rate no harder than this grade. She can find a strong position in running from barrier four. (3) Serinda was well supported when resuming and finishing third, and can improve with that run under the belt. (1) Jackie’s Maid resumed as a winner at Kyneton and while she needs to step up in grade, she rated well fresh and may be capable of doing so.

Selections:
(2) Queen Amanjena
(5) Ichiberu
(3) Serinda
(1) Jackie’s Maid

Suggested Bet: (2) Queen Amanjena (Win)

Race 7

(7) Bold Response has been a few lengths away from the winners in his past couple of starts but has the scope to improve here given he drops in grade and, importantly, maps for an ideal run up on speed where he can control the race from the front. (6) Theology won on debut before tackling a stronger race last time and can improve back in grade. (3) Freak Of Nature may be better suited dropping back to 1200m. (2) Titan Of Choice jumps from the inside barrier, should land in a good position and has a solid record at this track.

Selections:
(7) Bold Response
(6) Theology
(3) Freak Of Nature
(2) Titan Of Choice

Suggested Bet: (7) Bold Response (Win)
