Good little contest this. (1) Lightning Glory put up some strong figures last prep, including a dominant debut win at this track and trip. He has come back with back-to-back electric trials, looking extremely sound in his action. He gets the same setup here fresh and should find complete control of the race, so looks hard to beat.
(3) Erin Jo looks the only danger on paper. She was a smart midweek winner last prep, has trialled impressively and returns to racing on her home deck. (6) Azure Angel brings an unbeaten record into this race but did look a touch underwhelming in two recent trials. (8) Salma’s Star is next best off some good trial work.

Race 7
This is the last chance for these gallopers to make the Midway-Provincial Championship Final. (3) Banjora had a complete forgive run at Gosford in the heats last start, but he looks to have come up to peak fitness now and importantly gets Lloyd back in the saddle on what is a spacious Newcastle track. He should be winning this with ease and looks the one to beat.
(1) Lord Of Biscay was solid fresh when placed and returns to his home deck, where he should roll forward from the draw. He looks the danger. (8) Imposant is another back to his home track, is at peak fitness now and should appreciate the easier field overall. (5) Clancy is next best, racing consistently, although he may lack the upside of a few of these now.
