Handy 2yo race, this.
Loved the trials of #8 MORNING WHISPER leading into her second campaign. She has won both jump-outs and done so in fast time with plenty in hand. She didn’t have a lot of luck in her only start, the Merson Cooper, back in spring. She finished fifth there but should clearly have finished third, and it has been a handy form race with both Stretan Ruler and Eternal Warrior impressing in top-level 2yo races over summer. She finished behind #2 FREE FLYING on debut, who she meets again today, but should’ve clearly beaten her home.
Think the danger is #9 BREVITAS who makes her debut for Phillip Stokes. Has impressed in a number of jump-outs at both Pakenham and Cranbourne and she looks set to acquit herself well on debut.
