Expecting this should be no more than a sit & sprint staying race with a distinct lack of speed. The (5) COSMETIC VIRTUE can lead claiming down to 53kg with only (3) MR BULLY TEE her only challenge for the front. The Pitman stable has three runners, (4) ENTERPRISE GEM is well-placed, she is a mare in form, weighted to win and has an affinity for the this type of surface, she does go 1600m-2200m but this is unlikely to be any great test of fitness or stamina and can sprint best to wear down the lead pairing.

Race 6: (R65 1200m)
Tempo: Average
(3) HOLDEM holds a dominant figure over her rivals this track & distance and gave a fast horse too much slack here last start when crossing from wide gate and couldn’t sprint with the winner. Drawn the pole, Amber Riddell has the speed to herself and the mare is at her best when allowed to stride and dictate terms. Hard to beat in this field and is the best of the day.

Race 8: (R65 1600m)
Tempo: Above Average
(4) MY SHARONA was caught up in a Parsons’ stable plunge going to the mile for the first time and ran it out strongly in 2nd. The race was controlled by the stablemates while this mare was caught back and on the inside racing keen on a slow speed and hit the line nicely when clear. There is more speed this time with key runners drawn out and she looks to land midfield behind them, with clear running in the straight she gets her chance.

Race 9: (R75 1400m)
Tempo: Above Average
There doesn’t look to be any reason why (4) HEY NOW can’t run well at a big price in the final event and offers tremendous value in early betting. The 7YO gelding was excellent winning a fast run 1200m here two back defeating a subsequent winner and followed up with another solid performance on turf. Returning to the poly with a good tempo expected, he maps to land midfield the outer camped on the speed and hitting the line strongly, a four-time winner this track & distance, he’s hard to fault. Best value on the card.
