#3 PROVERB only needed 100m of clean air to win his Kensington trial impressively. Time was just fair, but he clocked the second best last 200m split of the entire morning. His turn of foot looks ideally suited to the straight and the booking of Blake Shinn is a positive. Like backing the Sydney horses in this race as they have a really good experience through the official trials up north.
Think #5 BELLA DIVINA might prove the main danger. She went super in winning a Pakenham jump-out on September 15. She backed up nine days later and was given a soft hit-out down the Flemington straight when third to #4 SILENT INTENT, but she wasn’t knocked around and her work past the post was excellent.
Tony and Calvin McEvoy have three in the race: #1 ANKAA, #4 SILENT INTENT and #6 MAALEFUSHI. All three have trialled up with some talent and a bit of intent. The three of them went to the line locked together in their work on September 11 before having a hit-out down the straight. Straight-track experience should stand each of them in good stead. Hard to split the trio, but lean ever-so slightly to SILENT INTENT.
#7 MUSANDAM might be the leader here. She has also trialled up quiet well, but was a little wayward late down the straight in her latest work.
