A fascinating staying contest over the 2400m. (1) Mama Joy is looking for the hat trick. Terrific last start in a similar field and will appreciate the rise in distance and should be in this for a long way. Jmac jumps aboard (3) Happiness who won convincingly at Kembla over the 2000m. He is super fit and looks ready for his first attempt at 2400m. (2) War Ribbon looks to be another serious contender in this race, should be ready to peak here 3rd up. (7) Valentine John has shown to have staying ability, and can run a race at odds.

(4) Fernweh can only be better for that first up run, may need some luck from the wide draw, but Nash will give him every chance. (13) Peace Bird was brave on debut at huge odds, freshened since then and will have improved. (2) Bugatte showed plenty of ability at his most recent trial, and looks ready to run well on debut. (6) Nitro comes out of the trial black book off the back of two smart efforts, this does look to be a deep race on paper, but he maps to perfection from the inside darw. He is right in this and warrants a play.

Looks to be a race in 4 here. I will put (2) Editing on top who has drawn the inside gate, and gets Jmac in the saddle. He is a proven fresh performer, and can maintain that record here. (5) Golden Straand has been consistent this prep and remains unbeaten over the 1200m, can maintain that record here. (4) Midnight Dynamite looks to be the other contender here, will appreciate the significant weight drop and looks ready to peak third up. (9) Theblade finished just out of the placings last start, expect significant improvement here 3rd up.

(1) Cristal Clear can do no wrong lately, looking for his fourth win on the trot. Drawn well in barrier 2, and gets the 2kg claim. Loves this trip and will be right in finish again. (7) Zondee put in an improved performance last start, and should be ready to peak fourth up. (8) Brosnan is a last start winner, and looks ready for the rise in grade. Gets a significant drop in weight and will be doing his best work late. (5) Jamberoo has won 1st up in the past, and has tuned up for this with 3 nice trials. Expect him to try to lead from start to finish.

(3) Silver Wedding is a proven fresh performer, and will be looking to maintain that here. 1100m looks ideal to kick off her preparation, and will get the run of the race from the inside gate. (4) Jellicious is looking to make it a hat trick since he joined the Waller stable. Strips fitter and looks well placed here. (11) Penpal comes here off a total forgive firts up down the Flemington straight. She has since been back to the trials looking as good as Silver Wedding and does get a key map advantage here where she should find the spot outsdie of the leader, right in the mix. (9) Crepe Myrtle has had 3 trials to prepare for this, and looks ready to run well first up.

(2) Rotagilla is a proven fresh performer, and has tuned up for this with two quiet trials. Expecting a bold showing first up. (6) Rapbidash was brave last start, saluting 2nd up. Will only strip fitter for that, but is going to need plenty of luck from out there. (10) Super Mirage will likely need the run after 56 weeks away from the track, but is one to watch on Australian debut. The consistent (7) Jacob’s Ladder goes in the mix with Lloyd booked in the saddle, peak fitness now third up and has claims from a smart inside draw.
