THE MAGISTRATE looks well set up in this race 3rd up today, reaching a peak level of fitness as he has a super record at this point of his prep (5:2-1-1). He was solid last start in a stronger race at Morphettville when getting caught up in a speed battle in a race that was run at a very fast tempo. He was inclined to fold up off that tempo but stuck on well enough to finish 5th. This race maps to have less pressure out in front which can give him an easier time in run.
FREE BEER looks the clear main danger. He goes well 3rd up and at this track and may be the smart betting play to have a saver on to cover the stake in the race, as they appear to be the main two chances.
