Might and Power winner Globe is in some doubt for the Cox Plate after pulling up sore from a weekend gallop.

Roll the Dice’s Rob Norton, who own the 7-year-old, told Betsy the injury is ‘’very minor’’ and still remain hopeful he will line up on Saturday.

“He’s a bit sore. He came back from the paddock after his Group 1 Might and Power and he was fine. He galloped extremely well on Saturday and he’s just pulled up a touch sore yesterday,” he said.

“It’s very minor.”

Norton said Globe will be tested again later in the week.

“So there’s another test that needs to be performed by Friday this week and then from there Mick Price and the vets will make the right decision,” he said.

It has been a big month for the syndicate after beating stars Treasurethe Moment and Buckaroo in the Might and Power Stakes to then deciding to pay the $200,000 late entry fee for the Cox Plate.

“It’s been unbelievable. It’s a proper race that race [the Might and Power], it’s a 10 furlong Group 1 and he beat two favourites that day,” he said.

“For this race, he definitely deserves his spot in the field. We’re thrilled to be a part of the race. I said before, on stage to Richo [Jason Richardson], that we’ve been coming to this function for years thinking maybe when do we get a chance to be in this race?”

“So, we’re thrilled to be a part of it. We’re embracing it. And we’re hoping to take our place.”

Norton said the success of Globe has been a boost for their business who typically can’t compete in the sales rings for the expensive horses.

“Globe has been amazing for us. We’ve got 68 horses on the books. This is our second Group 1 winner. We won a really good race in Sydney called the Coolmore Classic, which is for fillies and mares,” he said.

“We are a Victorian business at heart. We don’t mind taking New South Wales’ money, but we are Victorian. So winning at Caulfield was really special because that’s like our home deck.”
