Race 1
Even affair to kick off proceedings.
(5) Riez Souvent improved sharply second-up when hitting the line well behind Big Tiger, peak fitness now and up to 1550m reads well.
The stablemate (3) Patonga brings a very similar profile to this event, peaks third-up and should get the run of the race from barrier 1.
(7) Flaxlands is running out of chances for punters, she has been thereabouts all prep but the penny is yet to drop.
(6) Tutto rounds out the numbers.
Selections:
(5) Riez Souvent
(3) Patonga
(7) Flaxlands
(6) Tutto
Suggested Bet: No Bet
Race 2
Keen to side with the Waller trained (10) Snitzel Miss. She was underdone first-up off one trial but still stuck to her task behind an impressive Plantiff. Second-up now draws well and should come on fitness wise.
(5) Jaegers was great second-up behind an impressive winner, peak fitness now third-up and gets the blinkers on but does need a smart ride to offset the draw.
The well backed (6) Lambertina rounds out the numbers but does look very short.
Selections:
(10) Snitzel Miss
(5) Jaegers
(6) Lambertina
Suggested Bet: Snitzel Miss WIN
Race 3
The race of the night. Plenty of winning chances overall.
Excited to see (8) Attractiveness debut, she has shown immense talent at the trials and should enjoy a kind run in transit from gate 2.
(2) Irish Witchy has caught my eye in recent trials, he has come up big odds here and should enjoy the run of the race.
(3) Monotone and (6) Caffe Florian are next best.
Selections:
(8) Attractiveness
(2) Irish Witchy
(3) Monotone
(6) Caffe Florian
Suggested Bet: No Bet
Race 4
Good speed expected up front over the 1100m here.
(5) Casserousse goes firmly on top here off the back of a dominant last start win, she will not get it as comfy as last start but still has upside to come.
(6) Fiorenza has come up massive odds, back-to-back quiet, but impressive, trials and has a smart first-up win from last prep on the CV.
(1) Bremel peaks fitness wise now and should roll forward from the draw.
Outside of that, (3) Strada Varenna rounds out the numbers needing to improve here second-up dropping back in grade.
Selections:
(5) Casserousse
(6) Fiorenza
(1) Bremel
(3) Strada Varenna
Suggested Bet: Casserousse WIN / Fiorenza PLACE
Race 5
Wide open event.
Happy to put (8) Sacrify on top here with the lack of speed up front, he should enjoy the firm deck and easier class here.
(3) Oakfield Wallaby brings the grouse Meridiana form to this event, up to 1900m poses no issue.
(4) Format has been back to the trials and given a strong hit out, another who will roll forward and be hard to catch.
(7) Happiness rounds out the numbers.
Selections:
(8) Sacrify
(3) Oakfield Wallaby
(4) Format
(7) Happiness
Suggested Bet: No Bet
Race 6
Nine of the fifteen are dual accepted.
Hoping (4) Invisible Magic stays here off the back of back-to-back impressive trials. The cherry on top is the 2kg claim and the smart gate.
(7) Fleeting Spirit maps well from the inside draw coming off a solid last start race, back in grade. Clark sticks from a good draw which is key.
(5) Chicama did not handle the wet ground last start, back to a dry deck with a tick over trial reads well.
(2) Tasoraay will need a good ride to offset the wide draw, scratchings have helped as does the 3kg claim.
Selections:
(4) Invisible Magic
(5) Fleeting Spirit
(7) Chicama
(2) Tasoraay
Suggested Bet: Invisible Magic WIN
Race 7
(6) Istolea Merc was heavily backed last start at Canterbury, he was trapped 3-4 wide the trip but did stick on well late. With a more economical run in transit he looks the winner here.
(3) Memoria gets in light with the claim after an impressive first up run, wet or dry is not an issue and she does get around Canterbury well.
(1) Mogo Magic draws out but should roll across from the draw. Gets in light with the claim and can bounce back.
(7) Balkans rounds out the numbers.
Selections:
(6) Istolea Merc
(3) Memoria
(1) Mogo Magic
(7) Balkans
Suggested Bet: No Bet
Race 8
Wide open end to the program.
(1) Verbil can roll forward and land forward of midfield, gets in light with the 2kg claim and looks well placed in this grade.
(3) Eclair Encore maps ideally from barrier 6 coming off a sound last start effort, he has been well backed in early markets and must be respected.
(5) Fiftyfivechevy strips fitter second-up and should appreciate sticking on the dry deck, up another 50m is perfect.
(14) Ivan’s Hero comes off a last start win, the wide barrier is the query but he has race fitness on his side.
Selections:
(1) Verbil
(3) Eclair Encore
(5) Fiftyfivechevy
(14) Ivan’s Hero
Suggested Bet: No Bet
