He ended his year with Warnie’s victory in Saturday’s $1 million Supernova at Pakenham and Nathan Bennett hopes to begin 2026 with a Magic Millions win.
The Bennett Racing frontman is eyeing the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic with untapped colt Tornado Valley, who turned heads when winning the G3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington during the spring.
The Ciaron Maher-trained juvenile made his first public appearance since the spring with a narrow, albeit sharp trial win at Hawkesbury on Monday.
Bennett said the son of Too Darn Hot will next tackle the G3 B.J. McLachlan Stakes at Eagle Farm en route to the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.
“He’s in very good order,” Bennett said.
“He’s heading towards the Magic Millions and then hopefully the Slipper.”
“He’ll run in the B.J. McLachlan up there on the 27th of December.”
“He’s come on from his Maribyrnong Plate win and he looks to be improving all the time so we’re going there pretty bullish that he’ll run well.”
Rosemont Stud retained a stake in the colt that they consigned and sold for $300,000 at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Bennett said Stay Focused, Snitzanova and Zaszou are also likely to run in lucrative races during the Magic Millions Carnival.
Snitzanova and Zaszou were placed in Stakes races at Eagle Farm on Saturday, while Stay Focused finished fourth at Pakenham.
