Shaun Beirne from Bet Legends is back with his midweek edition of Take Us On, identifying two short-priced runners he believes the market has got wrong at Doomben and Canterbury.
Doomben Race 1 – Oregon Coast
Oregon Coast gets another chance after disappointing first-up, but Beirne isn’t convinced there is enough in the form to justify the market’s assessment.
“Oregon Coast was $1.80 first-up and produced nothing,” Beirne said.
“He has no rating that reflects anywhere near the dominance over this field that the market suggests.
“He’s a clear lay for me.”

Canterbury Race 5 – Fierce
Fierce is a horse Beirne has plenty of time for, but this is more about price and opposition than knocking the favourite.
“I like Fierce as a horse, but I prefer Whatalegacy in what looks a two-horse race,” Beirne said.
“Whatalegacy is back as a gelding and has run a couple of cracking trials leading into this.
“He also has the map favours, and that makes Fierce a horse I’m happy to take on at the price.”
