Clancy – Ron Quinton (Louise Day)
Kensington H5 850m – Dec 18
Definition of progressive. Smart debut win beating the likes of Enviable before a brave third in career start two. Spelled and now brought back with back-to-back impressive trials against smart, seasoned Saturday-class horses. Overall time was average but the last 600m was very slick. Can win again first up.
Pazyryk – Michael Freedman (Sam Clipperton)
Kensington H11 850m – Dec 18
Started $5 on debut behind Golden Slipper winner Marhoona where he failed to handle the occasion. Has been spelled 46 weeks and brought back with back-to-back smart but quiet trials. Closed off on the inferior inside ground in the most recent trial, working strongly through the line. Ready to head back to the races.
Romanticism – Scott Collings (Pierre Boudvillain)
Goulburn H2 800m – Dec 19
Slower time compared to the first heat but all of these horses were kept firm on the bridle. Liked the look of this horse, didn’t fire a shot under the Anthony & Sam Freedman camp but matched motors here with some nice types. Can definitely win fresh placed in the country.
Capture Me – Joe Pride (Chad Schofield)
Warwick Farm H4 740m – Dec 22
Likeable first trial backed up by an even more impressive second trial. Typical Joe Pride trials, not asked for a lot but travelled sweetly on the bridle, looking like he had plenty to give. Ready for the races now and should come up odds.
Rubelin – Brett Robb (Izzy Neale)
Dubbo H1 860m – Dec 20
Nice debut trial by this 2YO filly, she trucked along strongly on the bridle with jockey Izzy Neale struggling to hold her back, she looked to have plenty up her sleeve and looks a talent, look for a second trial now.
Candlewick – Joe Pride (Zac Lloyd)
Warwick Farm H2 740m – Dec 22
Intriguing to see Candlewick now with the Pride camp. First trial was solid but I loved the sharpness here in the second trial. Kept firm on the bridle before being eyeballed and kicking back with absolute ease. Ready for the races.
