Summary of Best Bets

Best Bet: Race 7 (5) Bear On The Loose

Next Best: Race 6 (2) Ethereum Girl

Race by race overview

Race 6

The short-priced favourite Autumn Break comes out of the Guineas, and with that in mind, keen to side with (2) Ethereum Girl. She has been trialling like a horse with plenty of zip, the 1400m suits first-up and she should handle the ground. (1) Beyond Question has the race fitness edge but must carry 61.5kg, though he is going well and should be nearing peak fitness. (4) Jaegers would have been very hard to beat off last preparation, was plain first-up and likely looking for slightly firmer footing to show best. (5) Olatunde is next best coming off two solid runs.

Selections:
(2) Ethereum Girl
(1) Beyond Question
(4) Jaegers
(5) Olatunde

Suggested Bet: (2) Ethereum Girl (Win)

Race 7

A quality edition of the Albury Cup with strong Sydney and Melbourne form clashing with handy country runners. (5) Bear On The Loose produced a brave second-up effort at Randwick and should strip fitter again, with conditions to suit on a wet track. He looks very hard to beat. (2) Plymouth is racing in terrific form for Team Hayes, draws well, has tactical speed and should handle soft conditions. (8) Geemes was excellent in the Canberra Cup despite a plain steer, peaks third-up and finds her preferred wet surface. (3) Nellie Leylax also goes in the mix as a strong wet tracker who ran well in that same Canberra Cup.

Selections:
(5) Bear On The Loose
(2) Plymouth
(8) Geemes
(3) Nellie Leylax

Suggested Bet: (5) Bear On The Loose (Win)
