Globetrotting Australian mare Asfoora has been named Europe’s Champion Sprinter of 2025 at the Cartier Horse Awards in London.
Henry Dwyer’s pin-up galloper enjoyed a brilliant campaign aboard, adding to her Group 1 tally with wins in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York and the Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp.

She was voted a clear standout in her category, which included finalists Lazzat, Big Mojo and Arizona Blaze.
Asfoora is the third Australian sprinter to receive the honour, following Black Caviar in 2012 and Starspangledbanner in 2010.
Francis Graffard’s three-time Group 1 winner Calandagan was crowned the Horse of the Year, while Delacroix, Minnie Hauk and Trawlerman also claimed awards.
Asfoora is spelling in the UK ahead of what will likely be her final racing campaign in the northern hemisphere, geared around a third tilt at Royal Ascot.
