Jason Collett (Manaal): “A bit disappointing. I was in a good spot for her. Just couldn’t finish it off.”
Reece Jones (Vivy Air): “She was terrific. Probably a little bit stiff too. First up and G1 placing. Got to be happy with that.”
Craig Williams (Verona Rose): “I didn’t have the speed to go. There was a lot more pressure in today’s race. Found myself on the back of the eventual winner. The winner was able to outsprint me at the top of the straight. Still ran on well. Felt like I needed another 100m.”
Tom Sherry (Arctic Glamour): “Can’t be more proud of her. Tried really hard there.”
Zac Lloyd (Ole Dancer): “Tough run. She was very close to getting in. Just a couple dug up so I wasn’t able to find the spot I wanted to.”
Nash Rawiller (Savvy Hallie): “Probably a stretch too far at this stage. The filly has lost no admiration from my side. She was certainly beaten very quickly and I didn’t knock her around over the last 100m. Disappointing on the day but she will bounce back.”
Tim Clark (Cinsault): “She went terrific. Has done an enormous job this preparation. Just the back end of the 1500m in a high pressure race found her out.”
Tyler Schiller (Firestorm): “Thought the run had plenty of merit. If she draws a better barrier, she is probably figuring the finish. A bit tough from back last.”
Winona Costin (Melody Again): “A great effort. Ended up in a nice spot. Travelled well throughout. When the splits came she burst through. Thought she was going to go close for a second.”
Dylan Gibbons (You Wahng): “Followed the winner everywhere. She just didn’t finish off as well as she could have so see how she pulls up.”
Andrew Adkins (Shohisha): “Has run on really well. Was further back than I wanted. The speed of the race didn’t assist us. Did a good enough job.”
Jett Stanley (Jenni The Fox): “We were able to sit outside the leader quite comfortably. Coming around the corner she was put under pressure. Copped a little bump from Timmy Clark to get out which he had every right to. After that her action just went. I had to pull her up and hasn’t pulled up too good. Hope everything is OK with her.”
Rachel King (Cilacap): “She ran super. Probably could have done with a shower of rain. She is better on a soft track but a creditable run.”
