There are five Group 1 races at Rosehill in Sydney on Saturday. Hear from the beaten jockeys from all five
Ranvet Stakes
Craig Williams (Sir Delius): “He is flying. The winner beat us by three and a bit lengths the other day so we shortened that margin down. He felt like he still has more racing improvement to come on and he’s right in line for the Queen Elizabeth now.”
Nash Rawiller (Lindermann): “He put up an amazing performance as he always does when he’s like that. He picked himself up off the canvas there at the 100m and really rallied. I thought for a stride we could worry her out of it. She is a top mare in her own right.”
Damian Lane (Trinity College): “A bit fresh and knocked up.”
Adam Hyeronimus (Alalcance): “She was just very one paced today. She’s ready for more ground.”
Rosehill Guineas
Craig Williams (Observer): “I tried to ride the perfect race on him. Probably third up in his preparation at ten furlongs, he probably possesses better staying ability rather than the change which probably caught him out and they sprinted better.”
Damian Lane (Deal Done Fast): “He ran honestly. Just wasn’t suited to the sit and sprint.”
Rachel King (Green Spaces): “He was enormous today. Will only be better when he gets over further as well.”
Zac Spain (Victorious Spirit): “That is probably the best he has begun. We wanted to ride him quiet. My stuff up. Should have just let him roll to the front. They went slow.”
Dylan Gibbons (Federalist): “Great to see him put himself into a spot. Just when they steadied up the tempo, that doesn’t play into his hands. Thought he finished it off very well.”
Zac Lloyd (One Step Closer): “Really good. Lovely Derby trial from him.”
Ben Melham (Bingi): “Just went too keen.

George Ryder Stakes
Nash Rawiller (Gringotts): “Awesome run. The mare dropped us 500m from home. It took 100m for us to get through that flat spot. Really proud of the way he hit the line the last 300m. Took an awkward run and really accelerated the last 100m. Great effort.”
Craig Williams (Pericles): “For a horse who had no favour from the barriers, he’s run super. He is going really well. Just needs a little more favour from the wide barrier draw.”
Luke Currie (Evaporate): “Seemed like he raced a bit flat today.”
Jason Collett (Headley Grange): “He ran great. I just got dragged out of it from the middle section behind Pericles. Good run.”
Dylan Gibbons (Yorkshire): “I think we had a great run. Like to see what the vet says.”
Zac Lloyd (Linebacker): “Not his best performance. It’s probably the best he has begun. It’s been a work in progress for us. He drops 6kg into his next run. Hope we can see a better Linebacker.”
Rachel King (Encap): “He has run really well again. Obviously a tough race but he acquitted himself well.”
Tommy Berry (Lady Shenandoah): “She was brilliant. She relaxed really well in the run. Executed herself well there. Before the race she got quite hot and bothered. That probably told at the tail end of the race. She will be better for the run. Queen Of The Turf probably a really good race for her.”
Adam Hyeronimus (Beiwacht): “He has gone terrific again today against the older horses. Just needs to execute it a bit better in that first furlong at this distance, at this age.”
Andrew Adkins (Attica): “Happy with him. They were a bit smart for him off the corner. Going to a strong mile at Randwick sets up well.”
Tyler Schiller (Nepotism): “Mentally he is just not there at the moment. He just pulled himself up at the 200m. Not sure.”
Golden Slipper
James McDonald (Fireball): “Yeah good run. Will improve next prep.”
Jamie Melham (Closer To Free): “He was disappointing. He just overdid it today. Didn’t finish off after that.”
Rachel King (Warwoven): “Super run. Tricky gate but he put himself into a beautiful spot. I think he is going to be twice the horse next preparation up over a bit of ground.”
Jason Collett (Paradoxium): “Just too fired up from that wide gate. Didn’t have enough in the tank late.”
Chad Schofield (Stretan Ruler): “Very good run. He had a perfect trip in transit. Travelled well. Good to the line.”
Nash Rawiller (Zambales): “He did a great job. Got into the flow before the corner going forward. Trying to keep out momentum. Found all sorts of trouble up the running.”
Pierre Boudvillain (Music Time): “He went amazing. Had a beautiful run in behind the speed. Took the gap when it presented. Very proud of the horse and the whole country team.”
Damian Lane (Campione D’italia): “Super run. Gave up a lot of ground early on the hot speed. Got a run through the middle of them maybe could have gone close but I had to come wide. Finished strongly.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Hidrix): “Ran really well. At that speed he failed to travel. Balanced up and hit the line doing his best work the last furlong. Will improve into his 3yo year.”
Tommy Berry (Incognito): “Came around them to get an uninterrupted run. Found more trouble there.”
Ben Melham (Streisand): “Super gallant effort. Just a really tough filly. Good job to run second.”
Craig Newitt (Spicy Miss): “She ran really well probably up until the furlong. Just found wanting a little bit in that grade. She is a good filly going forward.”
Craig Williams (Chayan): “We ended up getting into a nice position in reference to where the winner was. He went in. I just didn’t have a horse. She didn’t run up to her form unfortunately.”
Regan Bayliss (Shiki): “She has come to the end of her prep.”
Tim Clark (Pembrey): “She tried hard. She had an OK run from a wide draw. Just the sustained pressure found her out.”
Galaxy
Tyler Schiller (Briasa): “I thought he was terrific. Got a lovely spot from the wide gate, three deep with cover. Tracked into it nicely. Ran came to an end quite sharply with the heavy weight and the wet ground. A couple with the pull in the weights got him. Did a great job.”
Rachel King (Mazu): “He is going super this horse. He has his quirks which we all know about. Likes to do things his own way. Couldn’t be going any better.”
James McDonald (Generosity): “Good run, no luck.”
Tim Clark (Hedged): “Ran very boldly. Presented and wasn’t beaten far at all.”
Tommy Berry (Jedibeel): “He is in super order. Gave away a bit of start from the gate. Just narrowly missed. Tough effort.”
Jay Ford (In Flight): “She ran very creditably. Just wish that rain had come because she grows a leg on a wet track.”
Ben Thompson (Ostraka): “Great in defeat. Would have finished a bit closer.”
Luke Cartwright (Bridal Waltz): “Really good run. I thought we were just in behind the speed. I thought she was beaten off by some good horses but ran well.”
Andrew Adkins (The Black Cloud): “She went super. Had all the favours but proud of her.”
Craig Williams (Enriched): “He needs everything to go right to win at this level. Being in the gates as long as they were, stepped slow and found himself back in the field and under those circumstances still ran well.”
Alysha Collett (Infancy): “Ran absolutely super today. Wasn’t beaten far. Gallant effort.”
