Turf Talk:
- Rail True. Dry track should favour on-speed with lanes 1–4 key in transit.
- Backmarkers will need a solid tempo to be running on.
Preview:
Race 4 No.1 Uber In
Good little maiden here over the 1200m. The market has missed Uber In – he comes out of a strong rating last start event won by Mile Of Glory. Yes, he draws wide, but he has race fitness and will likely roll forward. The unraced Cool As Popeye is the danger, but with Day booked, I suggest she’ll be ridden off speed. Stormy Reign has been hammered in early betting and must be respected. Outside of that, Matchsticks is next best.
Selections:
(1) Uber In
(9) Cool As Popeye
(13) Stormy Reign
(10) Matchsticks
Suggested Bet: Uber In E/W
Race 8 No.4 Savaii
Keen to stick with the Archibald-trained Savaii here third up. He’s put together two dominant recent wins and again looks very well placed. We’ll bet late though, as he looks a touch short in the current market. The danger is the Matthew Dale-trained Kendalia, who brings smart provincial form lines and has been well backed – the query is the draw. Greygenta drops back in trip and also brings strong formlines. Rocco Lini is next best.
Selections:
(4) Savaii
(8) Kendalia
(7) Greygenta
(12) Rocco Lini
Suggested Bet: Savaii WIN
