Race 2
It looks an even race on paper, but the more you deep dive, the clearer it becomes. Happy to have a small play on Federal Reserve – he was okay in his first prep in much harder grade, has put together two solid trials this time in, and maps well. Ho Aloha gets an ideal run up on speed from the draw and should be in the finish with race fitness. I respect Bifurcation returning to the home deck second up – look for late market support. Newy is next best but has only trialled fairly.

Smart little C1 here. Keen to side with the Archibald-trained Tulipwood, who resumes for her second prep after showing nice improvement in her first campaign. What I’ve liked most has been her recent trials – strong late and through the line. Santatime was outstanding first up off a 556-day break; my concern is he may be flat here second up. Ocean Chill got it all her own way fresh when leading; she gets another good set up here but will need to improve again. Rose Water maps well from barrier 7 and can figure in the finish.
