Two-Bet Play R2 No.3 Seta Muro/No.12 Pride of Mandy Faves unders, both trialled well for debut.
Best Value R3 No.6 The Blonde Bomber (E/W) Very weak maiden, maps handy, $26 looks over the odds.
Next Best R4 No.10 Madesian Went too hard on debut. Maps well here.
Best Bet R7 No.14 Tookay Pete Speed to roll forward, fresh record strong, right setup.

Turf Talk:

  • Tatura is typically a track that gives those on speed/on rails an advantage.
  • That said, the track was particularly fair at the meeting on September 8.
  • Firm deck, certainly not disadvantaging those on speed.
Race 2 No.3 Seta Muro/No.12 Pride of Mandy
(3) Seta Munro has shown both good speed and talent in trials leading into this debut. With Craig Newitt aboard, think this 5yo will find the front and take plenty of catching – very few riders are better around these tight-turning circuits than Newitt. Pride Of Mandy has shown a good turn of foot in jump-outs and provided the track races at it did at the most recent meeting then she will charge at them late. Betting around the early faves and think both of these trim up.
Betting suggestion:
Backing Seta Munro at $6 and Pride of Mandy at $4.80.
Race 3 No.6 The Blonde Bomber (E/W)
This is a very weak maiden.(6) The Blonde Bomber resumed at Donald where he was pratted deep throughout off a solid enough tempo before understandably tiring late. That was a far stronger maiden than what he contests here and stepping to the 1450m from a good gate he should get a much more economical run in transit, somewhere near the speed. Importantly, jockey Zac Spain is adept with the whip in both hands which will be important with this bloke as he still wants to lay in up the straight.(9) Meet The Wife was terrific first up at Wodonga and provided horses can make ground from the tail she should be right in the finish.
Betting suggestion:
Having a small E/W play on The Blonde Bomber at $26.
Race 4 No.10 Madesian
Thought the main danger when doing the form yesterday was (11) Simply Gold who has been scratched. Madesian showed good ability in jump-outs prior to his Donald debut. He was forced to work like a trojan horse on a strong tempo there, but stuck on well to run third. Thew step to 1980m looks ideal and importantly he looks to get control of the race.
Betting suggestion:
Backing Madesian at $3.20.
Race 7 No.14 Tookay Pete
Speed comes from (1) Aminatu and (14) Tookay Pete. (13) Annoy’en One and (12) Boudica Warrior can also influence the speed.Like Tookay Pete. His form since joining the Page stable has been good and liked his recent jump-out at Kilmore, where he showed good speed and wasn’t asked for the supreme effort late. He has had a decent break, but fresh record is strong and suspect the stable were happy to avoid wet tracks over winter given his penchant for firmer footing. This is a great track for him to roll forward at the 1000m and take plenty of catching first up.If there’s a danger, suspect it’s Aminatu. He is a new acquisition to the Goodwin barn, who are lethal with tried horses. The best of this bloke’s ratings are the best in this race but he can mix his form and jump-outs were fair, without raving.
Betting suggestion:
Think anything $2.40+ is value about Tookay Pete and there’s plenty of $2.90 available as I post this.
