Race 1

(8) VINDICTA is no star but has won both runs this prep. Travels well in his races and has a turn of foot. Liked the way he found when challenged last start and is rock-hard fit third-up. Stable has won 9 of their last 50 runners and is going well.
(11) ARISPHERE has always been a favourite of mine and I’ve backed her every start this prep. I’ve run out of patience now. Draws well, suitable race and jockey, but she’s had that all prep and not delivered. Hard to knock a Gollan runner though.
Away from them it’s wide open. (1) FLAMING CONQUEST has been good in better races but has the big weight. (5) PORT ERIN is consistent but can find one better. (6) TIGER TIE can be on speed and land in the money.

Race 2
Selections: (6) El Jasor · (1) Hype · (2) The Right Way · (4) Barazin
(6) EL JASOR may need another run but his two efforts back weren’t bad. Set to improve and has run well in Queensland multiple times.
(1) HYPE has been handled beautifully this prep, improving every run before winning the Mackay Cup easily. That was a target race and it’s been a month between runs, but he deserves respect. Hard to line up the northern Queensland form in town though.
(2) THE RIGHT WAY is a tough on-speed runner who gives a kick. Bolted in last start at Doomben but yet to win at Eagle Farm.
(4) BARAZIN mixes form too much to be confident. Winner two back at Coffs Harbour in an average cup race, then just okay here last start. Always looked above average but seems to have found his level.

Race 3
Selections: (1) Cavalry Man · (8) Moon Sweeper · (5) Aolani · (9) Ready For The Trip
(1) CAVALRY MAN has been consistent for the new stable but a little weak late. Understandable last start when he went early trying to steal the race. Rock-hard fit now, this trip is fine, claim helps but has a sticky gate.
(5) AOLANI went over the line with the topweight last start but had all the favours. Can still give a sight but not as suitable here.
(8) MOON SWEEPER hasn’t been at his best this prep but has improved each run and the Sydney trip may have sharpened him. Looked a blacktype horse last prep so must be respected.
(9) READY FOR THE TRIP is with Gollan, has won two in a row and is on the way up.
Suggested Bet – (1) Cavalry Man Win

Race 4
Selections: (7) Lonesome Soul · (4) Cyber City · (3) Wannabe Brutal · (9) Turbo Torque
(4) CYBER CITY had shown little prior but was $51 last start and bolted in. Up in weight and the market is the best guide now.
(7) LONESOME SOUL was beaten a long way last start but had excuses. The ride was plain and he had no luck. Lang going on is a positive, as is the big track and 1400m. Expecting improvement and some value.
(1) WHISPERING ROUGE, (3) WANNABE BRUTAL and (9) TURBO TORQUE are worth thought in exotics. (6) ESSESSBEE will make a horse, trial was good, but may need the run.
Suggested Bet – (7) Lonesome Soul Each Way

Race 5
Selections: (1) Cunnamulla Fella · (3) Free Carry · (2) Battleton · (10) Walsh Bay
(1) CUNNAMULLA FELLA comes off a win at this track and trip. Rock-hard fit fourth-up and this looks another perfect target.
(2) BATTLETON’s best is behind him but he doesn’t need to be at his best to compete. Had a month off before a fair fourth here last week. Quick back-up a query but he can figure.
(3) FREE CARRY is a good on-speed Gollan runner who loves this trip (7:3-0-3). Strong fresh win and has a good record second-up. Can lead for a long way.
(10) WALSH BAY next best.

Race 6
Selections: (4) Battlefield · (1) Pocketing · (9) Give Giggles · (2) Warby
(4) BATTLEFIELD was first-up after 210 days at 1350m and ran on well late. Back to 1200m, from a gate, with tempo on – sharp improver and love the stable.
(1) POCKETING has a class edge. G2 winner last prep at 2000m. May need the run and further but a win wouldn’t shock.
(2) WARBY is consistent but his pattern means he needs luck. (7) GIVE GIGGLES is flying and well placed.
Suggested Bet – Small Win (4) Battlefield

Race 7
Selections: (1) Ducasse · (2) Kronenbourg · (7) Queen Air · (10) Bullion Boy
(1) DUCASSE is a genuine blacktype horse. Trial was plain but class edge and proven first-up at 1400m. Big chance at double figures.
(2) KRONENBOURG may need the run but worked with Antino last week and looked sharp. Maps well and likes Eagle Farm.
(7) QUEEN AIR is better over further but very talented. Carries just 51.5kg and can win fresh.
(10) BULLION BOY is the fave, no real knock. Will be on speed with no weight, just feel the price is too short against these.

Race 8
Selections: (7) Keitel · (1) Magnatear · (10) Blazen Boots · (11) Victory Command
(7) KEITEL has been looking for the right race. 1400m may be his limit but drawn well to settle closer. Has a turn of foot and needs luck.
(10) BLAZEN BOOTS was a good winner fresh and is consistent. (11) VICTORY COMMAND chases three straight and loves Eagle Farm. (1) MAGNATEAR was just ok fresh but can improve off that run and this is easier. Like the apprentice and claim a bit of a help.

Selections: (4) Ouroboros · (5) Caspernova · (2) Money Team · (14) Field Of Myrtle
(4) OUROBOROS is a handy on-speed runner in a good stable. Looked the winner last start but nailed late. Scratched from earlier race to run here.
(5) CASPERNOVA has ability but has been costly this prep. Blinkers first time and Harley booked are positives. Another scratched from a race earlier to target this.
(2) MONEY TEAM progressed well last prep and resumes off two trials. Good strike rate and worth monitoring in the market.
(14) FIELD OF MYRTLE in a stable going well and was better than I expected last prep.
