Track
- Rail +7m Entire – with the dry track it should heavily favour those on speed with lanes 1-5 key in transit.
- Horses settling further back than midfield need a very solid tempo in front to be running on.
Stats
- Over the past 90 days Adam Hyeronimus is striking at an impressive 23.3% with a positive POT of +36.3%.
- The Ryan & Alexiou stable is the one to follow over the past 90 days up to $10 SP, striking at 25% with a POT of +47.1%. They are effective with runners first, second and third up.
Race 1
Cracking maiden to kick off proceedings. (10) Shangri La Boy was heavily backed on debut but did all the work outside the leader, much better suited second-up rising to 1400m. (9) Sarapo was strong late fresh and from gate 1 should get the perfect run behind the speed. (13) Saint Aldwyn and (11) Sir Loyne have both trialled up well on more than one occasion and look the best roughies.
Selections:
(10) Shangri La Boy
(9) Sarapo
(11) Sir Loyne
(13) Saint Aldwyn
Suggested Bet – Sir Loyne EW (Small)
Race 2
Another massive field where scratchings will play a part. (9) Perfect Apple is the best horse here, smart debut in a hot race behind Autumn Boy and Central Coast. He’s looked sharp in two trials but does draw sticky, reassess race morning. (11) Ripley maps ideally from the inside and should land up on speed, which is key with the rail out +3m. (15) Beverly Hills also maps well and looks suited, likely with Lloyd to ride. (6) I Am Adonis has claims.
Selections:
(9) Perfect Apple
(11) Ripley
(15) Beverly Hills
(6) I Am Adonis
Suggested Bet – Perfect Apple WIN
Race 3
Keen to stick with the progressive mare (1) Mergeila. She was dominant first-up in less than ideal conditions, and with 21 days between runs and a claim, she looks well placed. (6) Swelter underrated in the market, trialled sharply and maps to land on speed at value odds on the home track. (9) Snitzel Dancer a last start winner but needs to go to another level again.
Selections:
(1) Mergeila
(6) Swelter
(9) Snitzel Dancer
(8) Trafalgar Square
Suggested Bet – Mergeila WIN
Race 4
Very keen on the Waller/McDonald combo with (7) United Kingdom. After two credible runs on heavy 9 and 10 tracks, he finally gets back to good ground on his home deck. (10) San Giovanni the danger, no luck last start at The Valley and better placed back in Sydney. (11) Precinct is chasing a hat-trick and maps well from barrier 4, likely to land on speed. (4) Sting In The Tail rounds out the numbers, luckless last start and returns ot the home deck here with Lloyd aboard.
Selections:
(7) United Kingdom
(10) San Giovanni
(11) Precinct
(9) Sting In The Tail
Suggested Bet – United Kingdom WIN
Race 5
(7) Sarrismo looks close to a good thing on paper after a dominant fresh win in fast time. $2 seems very fair from a soft draw with James aboard. Intrigued to see what (1) Mawjood can do second-up from a lovely gate, firmer ground should suit. The consistent pair (4) Starman and (4) Pony Soprano round out the numbers off solid last runs, but look place chances at best.
Selections:
(7) Sarrismo
(1) Mawjood
(6) Pony Soprano
(4) Starman
Suggested Bet – Sarrismo WIN
Race 6
Happy to attack with a two-bet play. Both (8) Golden Straand and (1) Midnight Dynamite come through the same Warwick Farm race where they settled off speed and charged late – both fitter now and should settle closer. Taking on (9) Burma Star at $2.90, dominant last start, but that was on a heavy and he comes here off a gap between runs. (6) Theblade rounds out the numbers but is also short enough.
Selections:
(8) Golden Straand
(1) Midnight Dynamite
(9) Burma Star
(6) Theblade
Suggested Bet – Golden Straand & Midnight Dynamite WIN
