Horses settling further back than midfield need a solid tempo on front to be running on.

Race 1Keen to side with the Lyle Chandler-trained (11) Chamber Of Secrets here in race 1. She put in an impressive trial before being very well backed on debut, copped a plain run in transit but was doing her best work late. She draws much better here second up rising to 1400m. The current favourite, (7) Deel Me A Queen, is the danger but put in a very poor recent trial. The locally trained (10) Second Swing is on parade/market watch. One solid trial but in slow time, wary.

Race 4

Cracking maiden, plenty of betting opportunities. (12) Chains Of Love and (4) Shenandoah River look the two to beat off smart trials and a run, but both look very well found in the market. At the current price, (14) Probability Theory looks a stupid price here. Two very sharp trials when never let out of second gear, she maps ideally from the gate and gets Anna Roper aboard. Add to that the stable are firing at the minute also. There may be a betting opportunity late with (12) Chains Of Love if she keeps drifting too, do monitor.

Happy to back (1) Bluebird Bay in the last, she has come up big odds off the back of two eye-catching recent trials. Yes, she has to carry the big weight but should be able to use the inside draw to her advantage with Morgan aboard. I was impressed by the last start win of (10) Lighthouse Lass when rising in trip, the time and ratings backed up the visually impressive win. Fourth up and will appreciate the 1300m from a positive draw, clearly on top. (5) Telling is the danger, this should be a slight drop in class but I’m not convinced the 1300m is what he is after. The market watch is on the duo, (9) Atenta and (11) Brutal Elegance. Good race.
