Chris Waller is contemplating sending some of his stars on international campaigns, including Dubai and Ascot.
Waller confirmed on Saturday that Beiwacht is one of his stars nominated for the Dubai World Cup meeting.
‘’It would be a huge privilege for us to take a horse owned by Godolphin, that we train, and represent Australia,’’ he said.
‘’Obviously you’d only go if he was in the best possible form but the Dubai World Cup, it’s just an amazing event.’’
Waller recognised that the Dubai meeting on March 28 would clash with Australia’s autumn features. While he did not name other runners, he said they would nominate more within his stable in case they have the form to make the trip.
He also raised the prospect of an Ascot campaign for Beiwacht and others.
‘’We’ve got our better horses nominated because the world stage is important, and especially if you’ve got a horse that can go over there and win,’’ he said.
‘’Then you could go on to Ascot after that as well. It’s a long way from Australia but it’s so close to Europe.’’
Waller said travelling some of his stars was also an attractive proposition so they don’t clash in the some of the Sydney features.
‘’We’ve got a few horses in the same bracket so there’s no use having them all racing against each other,’’ he said.
‘’We’re becoming a little bit stronger … towards the back end of the Sydney Autumn Carnival, our sprinters will be coming together.”
‘’So, if we can get an opportunity to split a few of them up and build their values, it would be great.”
‘’Beiwacht will start off in the Lightning, go to the Newmarket and then off to Dubai if he’s in good form.”
‘’He’s got a track record with a massive rating when winning the Golden Rose. If he could win on the international stage, it’s worth a lot of money.’’
