Dean Watling is keen to take the early prices about three horses at Gosford on Thursday:
Race 3 No.4 Lucsain (currently $3.40 TAB)
Keen to back the David Pfieffer-trained Lucsain. The 4yo mare has lit up both of her heats at the trials, running very fast overall and last 600m times. The second trial was on the same day as the $1.80 favourite Temptation, with Lucsain running 6L faster and a faster overall last 600m time. Needs a touch of luck early from the draw but should be favourite.
Race 6 No.13 Street Lyric (currently $4 TAB)
The overall time wasn’t there at the trials for Street Lyric, but I loved the way she moved in her first set of trials this time in. She maps a treat and, in what looks an average race, she should start much shorter here.
Race 7 No 6. Better Late (currently $3.50 TAB)
You don’t see horses trial much better than this. The Nathan Doyle-trained Better Late has been gelded into this prep and has come back enormous. His latest trial was dynamic when rounding up the likes of Under Focus and Gringotts in very solid time. He looks extremely well placed here fresh and should start much shorter.
