Jan 8

Tamworth H6 950m

Eagleturn (Lou Mary, Mikayla Weir)
Quiet but intriguing first trial before being put into a second hit-out over 950m. Showed a lovely action and turn of speed and the overall time was strong. Yet to break the maiden but profiles as a horse who can strike first-up.

Siragusa (A & R Archibald, Chelsea Hillier)
Same heat as Eagleturn. Ridden in behind the speed before finding a gap late and powering through the line. Not a world beater but capable of winning fresh in the right race.

Tamworth H2 950m

Zousanity (Wayne Wilks, Shae Wilks)
Well beaten in a strong Maiden on debut but has clearly returned a different horse. Showed good tactical speed up front and ran smart overall time. Likely one more trial before heading back to the races.

Jan 9

Warwick Farm H12 796m

She’s Assort (Richard Litt, Dylan Gibbons)
Impressive first trial back this preparation from the three-year-old filly. Did a good job on debut when running second and looks set to improve this time in. Expect another trial before racing.

Vision In A Dream (Peter Snowden, Sam Clipperton)
Same heat as She’s Assort. Showed promise early last prep before something went amiss. Let up for 13 weeks and returned with an eye-catching trial. One to follow into her second hit-out.

Jan 12

Cranbourne H10 650m

Diamond Heist (Clint McDonald, Ben Melham)
Stood out in this short jump-out. Only 650m so expectations are tempered, but the poise and turn of speed were sharp and the overall time was impressive. Keen to see her over 800m or further next.

Jan 13

Rosehill H1 1030m

Concordia Wind (Chris Waller, James McDonald)
Smart mare who did not quite come up last preparation. Both trials this time in have been excellent, with the latest over 1030m seeing her savage the line late under riding. Can win fresh.

Rosehill H2 1030m

Harry’s Evidence (Ryan and Alexiou, Andrew Adkins)
Always shown ability at the trials but it has yet to fully translate on race day. Gelded into this prep and it appeared to click here. Fast time, big margin on those behind and hard held. Worth following into the next trial.

Rosehill H5 900m

Caesar (Peter Snowden, Tim Clark)
Smart horse who looks to have returned even better. Dominant on debut and sound second-up last campaign. Gelded into this prep. Looks ready to head straight back to the races and can climb grades quickly.

Rosehill H11 900m

Plume (M, W and J Hawkes, Zac Lloyd)
Back-to-back strong trials while being hard held. Plenty of ability under the hood and one to watch closely when resuming. Expect Lloyd to stay with her on race day.

Rosehill H12 900m

Peleus (A & R Archibald, Adam Hyeronimus)
First trial back saw him trucking along behind them with nowhere to go. Another runner who has been gelded. Showed ability in his debut prep without winning and mixed it with some handy types. Likely to improve sharply second trial.

Rosehill H7 900m

Diddle Dumpling (Ryan and Alexiou, Nash Rawiller)
Came of age last prep with two dominant wins before going amiss. Returned with two sharper trials this time in. Likely to start at appealing odds fresh and looks capable of bouncing back quickly.
