One of the biggest race days on the Australian racing calendar – the TAB Everest and Caulfield Cup Day – will now be broadcast to audiences in more than 230 countries and territories around the world.
The broadcast is part of a new partnership with DAZN – and with the backing of Tabcorp, Sky Racing, Racing NSW and Racing Victoria – ‘’will deliver wall-to-wall coverage of every race at both Randwick and Caulfield’’.
According to a release on Friday morning the ‘’feed will dedicate the whole broadcast to in-depth coverage and promotion of the two meetings’’.
Tabcorp Chief Commercial & Media Officer Jarrod Villani said ‘’the world feed would take the promotion of Australian racing to a new level’’.
“A wall-to-wall global feed of these two great race days means more eyeballs on Australian racing than ever before,’’ he said.
“Sky has worked closely with Racing NSW and Racing Victoria to increase the global distribution of their product, and Saturday’s World Feed is the next step in that evolution.
“Viewers will get seamless coverage across both states, promoting the very best of Australian racing. DAZN is a strong commercial partner of ours and we thank them for distributing the coverage globally. Our ambition is to grow world feeds of our great meetings in the future.
“It’s also important for Tabcorp to promote the industry together. Bringing the three totes together to create ONE POOL was one example, and a joint World Feed is another step in that journey.”
Racing NSW Acting CEO Graeme Hinton said the global broadcast ‘’represented another significant milestone’’ in promoting their premier raceday, The Everest.
“The TAB Everest has become one of the most recognised and talked-about races in the world, and this broadcast provides an extraordinary opportunity to showcase not only the world’s richest race on turf, but the quality and excitement of Australian racing to a truly global audience,’’ he said.
“The Everest was created to do things differently, to attract new audiences and to take racing beyond its traditional boundaries. Making the broadcast available in more than 230 countries and territories is another example of how that vision continues to be realised.
“With the world’s highest-rated racehorse, Ka Ying Rising, returning to defend his Everest crown against Australia’s best sprinters, there is unprecedented international interest in this year’s race.”
Racing Victoria CEO Aaron Morrison described Saturday’s racing as ‘’elite’’. “This is one of the great racedays in Australia with elite action in both Melbourne and Sydney and it’s fantastic that we can showcase the very best of our sport to new international audiences through the DAZN network,’’ he said.
“We’re celebrating an historic occasion with the 150th running of the Caulfield Cup, one of our nation’s great handicap races, which brings together horses from Australia, England and Ireland to headline an all black-type raceday here in Melbourne.”
