Bit of success in the Ramornie yesterday with the well-backed Band Of Brothers leading all the way.
That’s in the rear-view mirror. Let’s do it again today.
Only a couple of races really caught my eye.
Race 1 – (2) Lady Lucifer $3.60
She hasn’t been a mare I’ve been keen to back in the past, but I love the setup for her today. She’s clearly at her best when allowed to roll along in front, and she looks the obvious leader here. If she gets a soft time of it, she’ll take plenty of running down. She won second-up last start, is rock-hard fit now and gets another suitable trip. Looks the one they all have to beat.
Race 2 – (1) Righteous $17/$4
Just a small interest bet here. He’s a full brother to Care To Think, a very good horse I had a small share in, so there’s a bit of sentiment involved.
There are obvious queries: 40 weeks between runs, a new stable and only one trial. But I also think he’s the best horse in the race on ability. The decision to carry the 61kg rather than claim gives me a bit of confidence too. Happy to have a small play at the price.

I think there are two ways to play it. I’ll be taking the wider version below, but if you’re chasing a bigger percentage, you could anchor the odds-on favourite Zalique in the first leg to trim the cost.
