Race 6
A strong edition of the A J ‘Bert’ Lillye Memorial Handicap over 1200m. With soft conditions expected, the inside lanes (1–5) may be inferior, so runners landing away from the rail should be advantaged. Keen to attack the race with a two-play strategy.
(3) Charcoals was outstanding first-up, closing strongly despite racing back towards the inferior inside. He strips fitter second-up and maps to land off the rails in the 1-1. The only slight query is the Soft 7 surface.
(4) Cavalier Charles has been going very well this preparation when ridden on speed. There is a significant change today though, as from a wide draw he is likely to settle back and look to swoop. That could prove advantageous with the expected track pattern. He handles soft ground well and looks underrated in the market.
(7) Monte Kate looks the main danger. She has smart wet track form and returns to her home track.
(2) Well Timed was terrific fresh but the soft ground is a slight concern.

Race 7 – Kembla Grange Classic (1600m)
A massive field lines up for the feature event of the day, the Kembla Grange Classic over the very fair 1600m start.
(1) Spicy Lu brings strong form to the race after finishing second first-up behind the outstanding Sheza Alibi. She should take sharp improvement from that run, maps to land off the rails and rises to 1600m.
(6) Samarelle looks ready to improve sharply. She hasn’t let down in two runs this preparation but appears to be crying out for a wet track. Winkers go on which should also help.
(4) Aisle Two has found career best form this preparation and returns to her home track. The sticky inside draw is the main challenge.
(15) Feminino may need some luck from her likely settling position but on her figures she can certainly be in the finish.
