Scenic Point – Joe Pride (Adam Hyeronimus)
Warwick Farm H6 792m – August 4
Forgot to add this mare into the report last week. She has changed to the Pride camp between preps and looks to be going super. Lovely strong on-speed action and has punched through the line with intent. Two trials under the belt and ready for the races now.
Peyton – Joe Pride (Zac Lloyd)
Randwick H9 1040m – August 4
Has contested three races won by The Next Episode, Under Focus and St Gotthard. Second prep now and looks to have come back in super order, found the line in both trials under no riding and looks ready to explode. Will need to be placed well fresh and look for Lloyd to stick.
Wild Atlantic – M, W & J Hawkes (Zac Lloyd)
Randwick H16 740m – August 4
Convinced this is Team Hawkes’ best 3YO. He has shown above-average talent in all of his trials to date, looks to have matured well now into his third trial prep and once again showed his ability here. Keen to see him one more time before he heads to the races.
Syllable – Donovan Dillon (Holly Williams)
Tamworth H2 1000m – August 5
Well-bred daughter of Portland Sky, debuted in a strong race before being sent for a 19-week spell. Loved the way this filly accelerated over the final 200m in her trial, smart overall time and she looks ready to head back to the races.
Profitabelle – Bjorn Baker (Tommy Berry)
Rosehill H12 900m – August 7
She’s come back a 2-3L better horse, to be frank. Exciting progression and clearly a 2YO turned 3YO who can take that leap into black-type racing. She’s shown lovely tactical speed and professionalism before working exceptionally well past the post.
Café Au Lait – Chris Waller (James McDonald)
Rosehill H10 900m – August 7
Progressive mare who keeps finding improvement each preparation. Loved this trial when tucked up on the rails hard held, went to the line without being tested. Look for a second trial now before heading back to the races.
Starzintheireyes – John O’Shea & Tom Charlton (James McDonald)
Randwick H6 1040m – August 14
Progressive import who had form around Tazima in his first Australian prep. He’s been let up 10 weeks and brought back with this very impressive return trial. James weaved a passage late and, as the others tired, he skipped through his gears under no riding, extending away impressively past the post.
