Punting Form Data Drop: Doomben, Randwick, Sandown and Murray Bridge angles for Saturday

Group 1 racing rolls on in Brisbane while the Punting Form database uncovers the key betting angles, market movers, map edges and best bets across Doomben, Randwick, Sandown-Hillside, Murray Bridge and Belmont Park this Saturday.

Group 1 racing rolls on in Brisbane, the market movers are already coming hard at Sandown and Randwick, and the Punting Form database has lit up a handful of runners punters should be circling this Saturday.

Back-to-back Group 1 weeks in Brisbane and the numbers continue to paint the same picture.

The Doomben data hasn’t shifted much from last week and there are still a handful of key jockey and trainers punters should be tracking closely.

  • Chris & Corey Munce – A2E 1.28
  • Tim Clark – A2E 1.38
  • Tahlia Fenlon – A2E 1.29

(Note: A2E stands for Actual-to-Expected.)

The rail goes out 2m at Doomben, while Punting Form subscribers should keep a close eye on the updated Barrier vs Runstyle data later today. Click here to check out Punting Form.

Murray Bridge specialists worth following

The South Australian metro meeting shifts to Murray Bridge this week and while the prizemoney and race quality might not scream headline act, the data certainly does.

Jacob Opperman continues to dominate the venue with 62 wins from 406 rides at a monstrous A2E of 1.43.

If Dusty Martin had an A2E at the MCG, it would probably look something like that.

Interestingly, Brooke King and Caitlin Tootell also continue to thrive at Murray Bridge, particularly when settling horses back from wider gates.

Randwick pattern

Randwick continues to produce a profitable edge for horses drawn inside and settling forward, with that setup producing an A2E of 1.17.

Punters should be wary of horses that settle forward from wide barriers at Randwick, which has historically produced just a 0.73 A2E.

Inside draws might not be all they’re cracked up to be at Sandown…

Sandown-Hillside presents its own challenge too, particularly for runners settling back from inside draws.

That creates a potential obstacle for horses like:

  • Shockletz ($2.80 – Race 4)
  • Bella Verona ($3.50 – Race 6)
  • Recon ($5 – Race 8)

Belmont Park data is still to come, but early indicators suggest the rail-true setup could again create opportunities for Punting Form subscribers.

Holly Nottle is also building an excellent record in the west with a career A2E of 1.19.

Saturday bets

Doomben Race 2 – 1200m

Balance The Books ($4.20) profiles beautifully after running -7.4 over the final 600m three weeks ago.

The gelding leads the Top 4 Performers tally and owns a significant late-speed edge on the field.

Doomben Race 6 – 1600m

Our Queen ($4.90) has already been heavily backed into the Punting Form AI price after opening at $7.

The mare produced lightning-fast figures last start and also recorded a -12.6 last 600m figure three runs ago.

She maps with a 19% edge, while the Thompson-Baker combination continues to outperform the market.

Doomben Race 8 – 2000m

The Doomben Cup looks a brutal betting race where all seven runners could realistically win.

Jenni always trips me up. So I can’t step into Birdman or Half Yours at $3.80.

Vauban ($9.50) shapes as the value play after recording the quickest benchmark figures last start and previously performing strongly third-up.

The stable continues to beat the market and has engaged a jockey with an outstanding Doomben profile.

Sandown-Hillside Race 2 – 2400m

Houdini has already tightened from $5 into $3.80, although there’s hope the market drifts again closer to jump time.

The stayer showed excellent sprinting ability last start, maps ideally and benefits from Logan Bates’ 2kg claim.

Sandown-Hillside Race 3 – 1400m

Milos Filos ($10) shapes as one of the standout betting plays of the day.

The seven-day backup suits, the gelding produced the fastest last-start performance in the race and Punting Form AI has him priced right on the market.

Chips in!

Sandown-Hillside Race 4 – 1800m

Gilded Water ($2.80) continues to profile like one of the better bets on the Victorian card.

While rivals like Shockletz and Wonder Boy bring strong credentials, Gilded Water’s map edge gives him a significant tactical advantage.

The Ciaron Maher import ranks No.1 for Early Speed, PF AI and Race Time Price, while also holding the fastest overall performance figure in the race by two lengths.

Randwick Race 2 – 1400m

Audrey’s Lane ($8) profiles as genuine value.

The mare maps ideally, the jockey is flying and she has produced the strongest last 600m figures in similar conditions.

Punting Form AI has her marked considerably shorter at $6.38.

Randwick Race 4 – 2400m

Thebudgiesmugla ($3.80) looks perfectly suited third-up at 2400m and handles wet ground strongly. Punters always take note when they see Bjorn Baker’s name in the formguide.

Randwick Race 8 – 1600m

God’s Window ($12) looks over the odds.

The Chris Waller-trained galloper produced the fastest last-start figure in the field and tops the Punting Form AI rankings.

$12 appeals.

Randwick Race 9 – 1000m

The Baker-Parr combination gets another chance with Snack Bar ($5).

The gelding flew home first-up last preparation, ranks second for late speed in the field and should enjoy the right run stalking the leaders.

Murray Bridge Race 2 – 1200m

Word Game profiles as one of the strongest map-based plays of the day.

The filly benefits from a 27% map edge and was heavily backed early after running -9.4 over the final 600m last start.

Those figures look well above this grade.

Murray Bridge Race 3 – 1100m

Many of the Jacob Opperman runners have already been heavily backed from double figures into single digits.

Tobikko ($5) looks one of the better supported chances.

The three-year-old gets the ideal setup, owns the fastest last 600m and 200m figures in the field and profiles perfectly first-up.

Murray Bridge Race 8 – 1100m

From The Block ($5) absolutely jumps off the Punting Form database.

The Jolly-trained runner produced a figure more than six lengths faster than the field last start and clearly tops the PF AI rankings.

Belmont Park Race 5 – 1200m

Storm Away ($6.50) has already attracted early support and shapes as a likely market firmer.

The three-year-old maps positively, produced a strong late-speed figure last start and sits on top of the PF AI rankings.

Best roughies

  • Doomben R4 – Foreign Press ($10)
  • Sandown-Hillside R5 – Shining Smile ($15)
  • Randwick R10 – Mafia ($15)
  • Murray Bridge R7 – Flash Alice ($9.50)
  • Belmont Park R3 – Our Naughty Secret ($26)
  • Belmont Park R9 – Correct Choice ($11)
