Renowned for his vigour in a finish, Nash Rawiller was at his aggressive best aboard Run Harry Run at Rosehill, not only helping lift him over the line, but timing the horse’s fightback to perfection.
After making the running, Run Harry Run was joined by Williamsburg at the top of the straight and the pair matched strides until the 150m when Run Harry Run regained a clear upper hand.
However, Rawiller had to ask for another effort when Narbold ($6) charged down the outside and Run Harry Run ($3 fav) responded to his urgings, holding on by a half-head over Narbold with Williamsburg ($16) three-quarters of a length away third.
The ever cool Rawiller said he wasn’t concerned when Williamsburg got level with his mount, who he was confident still packed a punch.

“I knew I still had a kick,” Rawiller said.
“They (connections) were a touch worried with the 1500 that he could be a touch vulnerable. I just tried to travel in a beautiful rhythm. I wanted to go for him flat out when I wanted to, and thankfully he dug deep when he needed to.
“He came up in great order. The way the track is racing probably helped me a touch. Apart from jumping on his Melbourne leg on the corner post, he did everything spot-on.”
Representing the Lindsay Park stable, Anthony Feroce said Rawiller rode the last start Mildura Cup winner perfectly, especially given the horse had struggled at the distance in the past.
“He’s a horse that has never run a really strong 1500, and I mentioned that to him before the race. I think he kept that in mind. It was a great ride,” Feroce said.
Trained by Ben, Will and Jd Hayes, Run Harry Run gave Rawiller a double on the program after he took out the Highway Handicap (1200m) on the Matthew Dunn-trained Wayburn.
