Turf Talk
- Racing on Lakeside track at Sandown.
- It is tighter and despite having a decent 407m home straight, it can be tricky to make ground.
- Rail out 3m. Track chopped out a bit at most recent meeting when the rail was true.

Race 1
Blinkers went on (3) Prime Pattern last time out and she was a good thing beaten. She had trialled well between runs so don’t think that was any fluke. Zac Spain just needs to be awake out of the stalls to kick up and use gate one to advantage – with even luck, she’s the one they have to beat.
(4) Blind Raise has tactical speed and has jumped-out nicely ahead of his debut. Straight to 1400m looks a query but the Lakeside track will suit. Key danger.
(1) Cyclotron looks suited out in trip while (2) Harry Met Sarry was a dominant winner last start.
Suggested bet: Backing Prime Pattern, smaller Blind Raise – like the race.
Race 5
Good speed.
(5) Vangogh Bankcheque has serious talent and a wicked turn-of-foot. Ripping home the 2nd best last 600/400m splits of the meeting fresh at Flemington, just peaking on his run the last 100m. Step to 1200m with added fitness under his belt suits. Only knock is Lakeside/can they make ground. With even luck, he’s the winner.
(7) Auxiliary was plain first up on the Caulfield Heath track but did go quite hard there and only had one jump-out leading in. Hit his straps second and third up last campaign – expect improvement here.
(11) Alzaro didn’t have much luck fresh at Caulfield. Has to go a fair way back from the wide draw and doubt can outsprint Vangogh Bankcheque but will hit the line strongly.
Suggested bet: Keep an eye on the first few races, if they can make ground then backing Vangogh Bankcheque/small save Auxiliary.
