Best Bets
Best Bet – R8 (13) National Code
Best Value – R7 (4) Nearing Liberty
Track
- The track will be rated in the heavy range and likely be a heavy 8 throughout
- The rail returns to the True position
- Despite the rail returning to the true for the first time since late March, the inside lanes may have some wear after the jumps races so wont be surprised to see runner come wide in the straight as the meeting goes on
Stats that matter
- Reece Goodwin bring two strong chances into the meeting and his stable is in super form. He has produced 20 winners from his previous 100 runners to return a POT of +23.1%
- Julius Sandhu’s stable still remains profitable for punters to follow producing a POT of +41.7%
- Lachlan Neindorf has returned from his suspension in hot form with a double yesterday at Eagle Farm. From his last 100 rides he has ridden 19 winners and returned a POT of +19.7%
Race 7
(4) Nearing Liberty resumes, he has performed well 1st up previously including a win at this track/distance, looks to get a conservative run from barrier 4 and feeling he should handle the heavy track, looks well set up for a strong 1st up run.
(1) Legio Ten is in flying form having won 2 in a row, gets weight off his back again thanks to an apprentice claim and maps softly, gets every chance to win again in this set up.
(7) Masterful ran midfield when resuming but will be fitter now 2nd up and has won on a wet track previously.
(6) Margie’s Boy has been moderate this prep but she thrives on heavy tracks and could put in a strong performance in her ideal conditions
Selections:
(4) Nearing Liberty
(1) Legio Ten
(7) Masterful
(6) Margie’s Boy
Suggested Bet: (4) Nearing Liberty (Eachway)
Race 8
Lightly raced (13) National Code resumes for her 2nd career preparation. She may not have the experience as some of her rivals do but she may have good upside, she looks likely to race up on speed which should suit and won her maiden at Kyneton on a heavy track so conditions should prove no issue and she improved to win a recent trial so should be in good order fresh.
(12) Vienna Vixen has ran midfield in her last couple of starts but will drop back slightly in grade and getting back to the 1200m trip looks ideal where she has had previous success.
(8) Humble Trader was a winner when resuming at Pakenham before taking on a stronger race at Flemington, he looks better suited back down in grade and back to the 1200m trip where he has been undefeated previously.
(4) Wolfy is consistent and rates highly in this field, he will likely be hitting the line strongly late so will be hopeful for a fair track, handled a heavy rated track well 2 starts ago so expect conditions to prove no issues
Selections:
(13) National Code
(12) Vienna Vixen
(8) Humble Trader
(4) Wolfy
Suggested Bet: (13) National Code (Win)
