She’s Bulletproof will bypass an early Group 1 challenge this spring, with trainer Charlotte Littlefield confirming the mare will resume in the Group 3 The Heath (1100m) at Caulfield on August 30.
The Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at The Valley on September 6 was considered, but Littlefield said Caulfield — where She’s Bulletproof ran second in February’s Oakleigh Plate — is a better first-up option.
“I don’t want to aim too high to start with — the goal is to win races,” Littlefield told racing.com . “She loves Caulfield, and we’ll decide on Group 1 targets after that.”
The mare has three previous starts at the track, including a BM64 win in 2024 and a G3 How Now Stakes second behind Niance last spring. She returned in an 800m jumpout at Pakenham on Tuesday, pleasing connections despite finishing unplaced.
“She’s heading in the right direction,” Littlefield said. “Ben Allen said that if he’d pressed the button, she could have exploded, which is great given the Soft ground isn’t her go.”
Stablemate Big Swinger is also back in work and being aimed at a late-spring campaign, with the Supernova at Pakenham in December a key second-up target.
